Job Title: Retail Associate

Job Type: Part-time (10- 15 hours/week)
Rate: Starting at $19/per hour

Location: PLNTR, National Landing, VA (this posting is primarily for shifts at our Arlington location, with occasional coverage availability in DC)

Retail Associate Position Duties:

  • Greet and assist customers in-store, providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
  • Educate customers on plant care and provide recommendations for plants that fit their specific needs.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving deliveries, merchandising and restocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness.
  • Provide repotting and troubleshooting services to customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience in retail and/or customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to problem solve and be resourceful
  • Passion for plants and some basic knowledge of plant care, troubleshooting and repotting
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs

  • Potting is free with purchase - buy a new pot with your plant, and our team will pot complimentarily

Services Policies

  • Due to limited space and bandwidth, our team is unable to hold plants for more than days. After five days beyond communicated "Ready time", a 5$ per day plantsitting fee will be applied. We do not accept liability for plants left in our care for more than 5 days beyond communicated ready date. Ready date defined as ETA of delivery, pickup or repotting pickup date as communicated and agreed upon.
  • Client agrees that damages, cosmetic or structural, may occur during repotting services. While PLNTR staff tries our best to avoid damage, it may still occur, and by using our repotting services, client agrees that PLNTR is not responsible for any damage, cosmetic or structural, that may occur.

Commercial Design and Maintenance

  • Design, Installation and Maintenance – our team works with your designers and architects to compliment their work and your space
  • CEU’s - Our continuing education class covers lighting, intentional biophilic design and more
  • Corporate Classes – book your next team building experience with PLNTR.

Event Design and Rentals

We specialize in plants and dried flowers, and can also happily provide fresh cut florals as well.

  • Floral Design for Weddings and more – bouquets, centerpieces, large scale floral design and more
  • Plant Rentals for Events – spruce up your next event with live plants, delivered to your door

In-Home Consultations and Repotting Services

  • For larger repotting services, we can come to you, starting at $65, plus the cost of soil (dependent on scope of project)
  • Residential Design Services
  • Do we offer plant sitting? Not at this time officially, but schedule dependent

Private Classes and Event Rentals

  • Book a private class at either PLNTR shop
  • Book a private class at your home, or office, or other party destination!
  • Rent our space for a private event, include a class or not!
